Rules and Restrictions

Rules

• ISTD Syllabus for all four styles: Standard, Latin, Rhythm, and Smooth.
• All open figures will be invigilated as deemed appropriate by the judging panel.
• There will be No Restrictions placed on dresses and Outfits.
• Same sex couples Allowed
• You may dance in multiple categories and at higher levels but you may not dance down.

Restrictions

• Beginner I (began dancing no earlier than Aug. 2009)
• Beginner II (began dancing no earlier than Jan. 2009)
• Beginner III (began dancing no earlier than Aug. 2008)
• Master of Syllabus (Open to all dancers, at any level)

If you have a unique situation such as a female leader that has been dancing previous to Aug. 2008 with a beginner I or II girl we may make exceptions to which level(s) you can dance. Please contact Lianne if you have any questions.

Our goal is not to be strict, but instead encourage as many people to dance as possible while providing a fair competition.
